Power and Control
The mission of GreatGuys is to empower males to be men.
Here’s the issue: without a rite of passage, many males don’t make the transition from boy to man and remain powerless rather than becoming empowered adult men.
Empowered means having the power to uplift others. Martyrs and heroes are stuck in a power struggle for control. The powerful martyr bullies seek to take power away from the heroes because they are like someone trying to carry water in a bucket full of holes or even worse in some cases with a bucket that has no bottom. The more they take the more they need. Bottomless craving.
The more they felt powerless to get their needs met when growing up the greater the void.
Without a rite of passage where powerless boys become empowered men, males remain under the control of their egos that perceive danger where there is none. When a boy goes into the jungle to kill the lion, he learns what real danger is, As an empowered man, he can overcome real danger. The ego can ride on the bus just not driving it.
There no longer is the need to project power. We don’t have to brandish weapons to guard our mansions that represent our power from peaceful protesters.
Unempowered when we perceive danger we revert to the age where that “danger” was first programmed into our ego. Since ego doesn’t develop until two or three, that for many is the age we revert to: “You can’t make me!”
Until empowered, we are subject to manipulation with False Evidence Appearing Real (FEAR).
