I Love You So Very Much

To minimize contention, I’ve found holding just one agenda works well: I love you so very much. When in that space, I’m not tempted to promote my agenda: yeah but, I did not, you do too, what about. I’m really listening. Often there’s a look on my face that reflects my love. It’s hard to be mad with someone who loves you that much. It’s disarming. I can listen for opportunities not to get a word in but to ask for more. I can listen with heart for the emotions. I can reflect: Sounds like you are/were feeling …. And then listen for conformation or correction. Either bring me closer to the truth that wants to be revealed.
