Angels and Heroes
As agents of benevolence, we each will get the opportunity to be an angel or hero. To show up. To help another just when that help is needed. This isn’t to say rescue. Help and rescue are quite different. When I help someone, that person is empowered. It’s not about me. When I rescue, it’s much more about me. There’s a string attached. Rescue enables the other’s lack of power. And expects a reward: recognition, appreciation, affection?
Sure, those in peril powerless to save themselves need to be rescued. Heroes jump in. Selflessly.
Be an angel. Be there to empower, to help not rescue.
